Parallel vs. Series: Optimizing 48V Energy Storage
Release time:2024-06-14 18:00:28

While series connections increase voltage, parallel connections increase capacity (Ah). For modern motive power, a single-unit high-voltage battery is superior to multiple smaller batteries connected in series.

In the past, 48V systems were built by connecting four 12V batteries in Series. However, this creates multiple points of failure and makes cell balancing across the entire string difficult.

Advantages of Single-Unit High Voltage

WVMILFE recommends the "Single Unit" approach (e.g., one 48V 105Ah battery). If more range is needed, multiple units should be connected in Parallel. This ensures redundancy, simplifies wiring, and reduces resistance at the terminals, while a single BMS manages the entire voltage string in perfect harmony.
